The Eyelash Growth Cycle & How UKLASH Helps To Grow (FAQS)
Did you know that hair follicles are some of the most rapidly dividing cells in the human body? That’s why consistent use of an lash serum is an absolute necessity if you want to ensure that your eyelashes stay long and luscious.
If you’ve been diligently using UKLASH, but haven’t seen any changes yet, your lashes might not have completed a full lash growth cycle.
How long does it take eyelashes to grow?
It's a simple question, but unfortunately, there isn't really a straightforward answer to eyelash growth. The first thing to understand about eyelashes is their growth cycle. Like all of the hairs on your body, there are three phases to the eyelash growth cycle: anagen, catagen, and telogen. UKLASH helps your eyelashes in all stages in different ways.
The Anagen phase is also known as the growth phase. This is the most important phase when it comes to using UKLASH. It’s during this phase that lashes grow to their full length and can make the most of UKLASH’s nourishing ingredients. This phase usually lasts from 4-6 weeks.
The Catagen phase is sometimes called the transition phase. In this phase, the eyelash has stopped growing, but it's not yet ready to shed and start the lash cycle anew. If an eyelash is pulled out in this stage, the lash cycle is disrupted and the follicle will take even longer to grow back, and that's if the hair follicle isn't permanently damaged. This phase lasts around 2-3 weeks.
The Telogen phase, also known as the resting phase, is the final stage of the eyelash life cycle. At this point, the hair has stopped growing and it’s preparing to shed, starting the growth cycle again. This phase can last up to 3 months.
How long does it take for UKLASH to work?
UKLASH starts affecting your eyelashes from the very first application, even if the results aren’t visible instantly. It’s most effective in the first phase of the lash cycle - the growth phase.
The key ability of a well-formulated Lash Serum like UKLASH is its ability to extend the time an eyelash spends in the growth phase. The longer a lash stays in the growth phase, the longer the eyelash grows, which is how UKLASH gives you the gorgeous, fluttery lashes of your dreams.
The thing is, only about 40% of your upper lashes are in the growth phase at any given time. That’s right, all of your lashes aren’t in the same phases of the growth cycle at the same time! So when you’re using UKLASH, it’s affecting lashes in all phases of growth and will take some time (up to two months) for all of your lashes to catch up with each other. However, results usually begin to show after 4-6 weeks, depending on how many of your eyelashes were in the very beginning of the growth phase.
However, UKLASH doesn’t only affect lashes in the growth phase. When it comes to the transition and resting stages, in which case the eyelash has finished growing, the eyelash still needs to be conditioned and cared for.
Ensuring that the hair is kept healthy is crucial for ensuring that your newly grown eyelash stays put. In addition to growth-boosting ingredients, UKLASH has a perfect blend of moisturising ingredients to keep existing lashes healthy and lush.
It’s been 8 weeks and I haven’t seen any results. What’s going on?
Results vary from person to person, but for results, you have to apply UKLASH at least for 8 to 12 weeks (one bottle is enough). If you’ve been using UKLASH for more than 8-12 weeks and haven’t seen results, it’s a good idea to evaluate your entire lash care routine.
Consistently using UKLASH every night is key to ensuring that you see the results you want. If you’re only applying it when you remember, your lashes won’t be getting consistent doses of nourishing peptides and extracts that help them to grow. Tip: set a reminder on your phone for applying UKLASH so you can set a good routine.
How come my lashes are falling out?
At the end of every lash’s life cycle, the individual hair sheds, allowing the cycle to begin again. Every hair on your body goes through this cycle - it’s totally natural. Even the hair on your head! Because your lashes are so much longer and fuller, it does seem like a bigger deal than it is when they eventually shed.
The thing is, this is a totally normal part of the lash cycle and nothing to worry about - most people lose up to four eyelashes a day. It sounds like a lot, but when you consider that you have 150-200 hairs on your upper eyelid alone, it’s really not a lot of hair. If you still feel like your lashes are coming out at an unusually fast rate, check that you’re not making any of these lash care mistakes that could be causing premature lash fall.
